Job summary

Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a full-time Orthopaedic Physician Assistant to join a busy practice with 15 PAs across four Pittsburgh-area offices. The PA will perform first assist at surgery, H&Ps, and in-office care including ultrasound-guided injections, casting, and postoperative management, with EMR documentation and patient messaging.

Travel to all offices/hospitals is required. Weekend and holiday call is paid, and there is support from a Hospital PA for rounds and

• Minimum of two years PA experience preferred.
• Surgical experience and orthopaedic knowledge required.
• Prior orthopaedic experience strongly preferred.
• Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, caring and passionate about patient care.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Orthopaedic Surgical PA responsibilities include first assist at surgery, H&Ps and assist in the office with the full spectrum of patient care, including ultrasound-guided injections, casting/splinting, postoperative management, follow-up care, patient messages, EMR documentation, and injection clinics.
• They also assist with hospital rounding and orthopaedic consults. The opportunity to staff Tri-State Ortho Urgent Care hours is optional but encouraged and pays separately.

Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, a well-respected and busy orthopaedic practice, is looking for a full-time Orthopaedic Physician Assistant to work alongside of the current 15 PAs -14 Ortho PAs (including a \"Coverage PA\" to help cover vacations and provide additional help in the OR) plus 1 Hospital PA dedicated to hospital rounds/medical records.

Our Practice offers growth opportunities; we recently added another Orthopaedic Surgeon to our group and continue to expand our orthopaedic urgent care services.

The PA positions offer the opportunity to connect with people on a one-on-one basis, as well as work with physicians in various orthopaedic subspecialties. Call is currently 1 in 16. Physicians take first call for ER/Hospitals and the PAs take first call for patient calls/messages. Weekend and holiday call is paid and consists of rounds and assisting with any add-on cases. Weekday evening call is minimal and usually entails answering patient messages. PAs with extensive orthopaedic experience are invited to staff our Ortho Urgent Care hours, which are also paid separately.

Tri-State has four office locations in the Pittsburgh area, including McCandless, Seven Fields, Robinson Township and Fox Chapel. As an independent practice, we are able to care for patients with all insurance types. We are on staff at UPMC Passavant, UPMC St. Margaret's, and AHN Wexford hospitals, as well as the outpatient surgery centers at UPMC Harmar, AHN Wexford, and Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Surgical Suites. Travel to all offices/hospitals is required.
