Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care under physician supervision in a hospital or clinical setting. You will obtain patient history, perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and manage care.

The role requires prescription authority credentialing from NCCPA and the Michigan Board PA Task Force, with BLS active within 30 days.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from NCCPA; required before hire.
• Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from Michigan Board PA Task Force; verified by Credentialing Office.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment.
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures; provides and documents direct treatment.
• Provides counseling and education to patients and families/caregivers on prevention, treatment options, and community resources.
• Performs preventive health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.

• Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Preferred Credential(s)

• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
