Mass General Brigham Incorporated’s Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for per diem coverage within the inpatient General Medical Service. You will work closely with residents, medical students, and attendings to coordinate patient care.

The position offers an hourly rate of $95.84 with a minimal shift load (2–3 shifts per quarter, including at least one weekend).

Qualifications

• Graduate-level, accredited Physician Assistant program approved by AMA Board of Certification
• 4 years of college-level education with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; BS/MS joint programs acceptable
• Board Certification by NCCPA required for PAs; active licensure in MA for PAs
• APRNs: master's or post-master’s in acute care, adult or family NP; certification by ANCC or NLNAC; MA license; relevant experience preferred

Schedule: The requirement is only 2–3 shifts per quarter: one of those shifts would need to be a weekend shift. The Department of Medicine Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is a member of the inpatient General Medical Service team. The PA/NP is responsible for assisting attending physicians in the medical management of patients assigned to the PA/NP service and to also work in the context of an integrated team which includes residents, medical students, and attendings. The PA/NP works closely with the physician and nursing staff to develop and coordinate a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required. Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning are also required.
