Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Physician Assistant for our InstantOrtho clinic in Arizona. The role focuses on walk-in orthopedic cases and offers autonomy in a fast-paced, clinic-based setting.

You will work with physicians to obtain histories, perform exams, order tests, administer injections, coordinate care, and provide patient education. This is a dynamic, team-based environment in a privately owned practice with modern imaging capabilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Certified by NCCPA and Arizona state license.
• CPR certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience in orthopedics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete medical histories and perform physicals.
• Review patient records and coordinate diagnostic procedures.
• Order labs and imaging as needed.
• Administer injections and medications.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
• Assist physicians during patient visits and procedures.
• Triage patient calls and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EHRs.

This position will be based out of our InstantOrtho clinic. Focusing on walk in orthopedic cases. This is a great opportunity to work autonomously in a fast pace, clinic based role.

As a Physician Assistant with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the Physician.
• Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
• Review patient medical records.
• Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Perform complete physical exam and records findings.
• Establish presumptive diagnosis.
• Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer injections and medications.
• Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
• Recommend community resources to help patient and family needs.
• Instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians in recording patient progress.
• Issue diagnostic orders.
• Triage patient phone calls.
• Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Provide on call services on assigned basis.
• Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands.
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computer programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete and maintain HCP training.
• Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
• Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Certification from the National Commission on certification of Physician Assistants.
• Maintain Arizona State License.
• Maintain CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of Physician Assistant experience in a busy orthopedic practice.
