Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant (PA), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

  • Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
  • Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
  • Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
  • Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
  • Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict
Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Physician Assistant in an outpatient primary care clinic, community health center, etc.
  • Must hold an academic degree and completion of a specialized Physician Assistant Training Program
  • Successful completion of a national physician assistant examination prior to being licensed by the Physician Assistant Board in California.
  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in good standing from the California State Physician Assistant Board.N
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) number
  • satisfactory report from the National Practitioner Data Bank
  • Ability to successfully meet Dignity Health's credentialing and privileging processes upon hire and biannually thereafter
  • BLS certification
  • PA license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to verbally communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • ACLS
