Mass General Brigham is seeking a Physician Assistant to support Family Practice and cover when providers are out of the office. You will diagnose, treat, and manage both acute and chronic illnesses, perform exams, order tests, and educate patients in a collaborative team setting.

The role requires MA PA certification, MA license, ACLS, and MA Controlled Substances Registration, with strong EMR and communication skills in a 40-hour onsite schedule.

Qualifications

  • Physician Assistant certification and MA license are required.
  • ACLS certification and MA controlled substances registration are required.
  • Experience with EMR and MS Word is expected.
  • Ability to document in EHR accurately and completely.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Perform age-appropriate history and physical.
  • Order and interpret age-specific diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust as needed.
  • Educate patients on acute and chronic conditions.

  • Facilitate referrals to specialists and ensure follow-up.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to support the Family Practice and to provide coverage when the providers are out of the office.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Diagnose and Treat acute and chronic Illness
  • Perform age-appropriate history and physical
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments to patient’s age specific need
  • Monitor the effectiveness of treatments
  • Provide education of acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Managing Chronic Medical Conditions
  • Reconciling medication list
  • Facilitating appointments to specialist
  • Providing thorough exams and evaluations of patient’s health status
  • Facilitate appropriate chronic care management (i.e. Diabetic eye exams, foot exams and nutritional counseling)
  • Preventive Medicine
  • Keeping track of and referring patient to appropriate preventive medical screenings (e.g. Mammograms and Colonoscopies)
  • Counseling and reinforcing patients in healthy life style habits
