Job summary

MindCare Solutions is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. The PA will provide acute and chronic psychiatric care, rounding in a hospital, conducting ED and IP consults, and coordinating with the care team.

The role includes outpatient medication management, treatment planning, documentation, and participation in quality improvement, with relocation assistance and up to $75/hr compensation.

Qualifications

• Missouri PA license required.
• Collaborative practice with MO-licensed physician.
• Prescriptive authority delegated under collaborative agreement; MO CDS and DEA compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for patients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including medication management and therapy options.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality psychiatric care.
• Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as needed.
• Conduct daily rounds in a designated hospital maintaining continuity of care.
• Respond to consult requests from ED and IP units with assessments and recommendations.
• Monitor and adjust medications to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects.
• Implement therapeutic techniques for a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
• Educate residents and families about mental health conditions and options.

Physician Assistant (PA) - Full Time

MindCare Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will excel in both acute and chronic psychiatric care, delivering high-quality mental health services to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.

This role involves rounding in a hospital, conducting Emergency Department (ED) and Inpatient (IP) consults, managing psychiatric evaluations and treatment plans, and collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary care team. The provider will also participate in outpatient psychiatric services, including medication management and follow-up care, to support continuity of treatment and positive patient outcomes.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans or patients.
• The Physician Assistant will develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top tier Psychiatric care for residents, including the Collaborating Psychiatrist, Mental Health Professionals, and HUB Coordinators.
• The Physician Assistant will prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
• Conduct daily rounds in one designated hospital, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team.
• Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, offering expert assessments and recommendations
• Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
• Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions
• The Physician Assistant offers education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
• Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions
• The Physician Assistant will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes

Qualifications

• The PA must hold a Missouri PA license.
• The PA must practice under a collaborative practice arrangement with a Missouri-licensed physician.
• The collaborative agreement must delegate prescriptive authority. For controlled substances, the PA must also have Missouri-controlled substance prescriptive authority and comply with DEA and state requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
