Northwell Health in New York seeks a Physician Assistant to perform a broad range of clinical duties. The role includes patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, plus participation in performance improvement and educational activities.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in NY.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsabilidades

• Take initial patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Document and communicate the plan of care with follow-up.
• Perform daily patient rounds.
• Write orders for medications, labs, and diagnostic tests.
• Interpret laboratory and test results.
• Consult with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff and other care providers.
• Note discharge summaries and referrals upon discharge.
• Inform patients of post-discharge care instructions.

Job Description

• 1.Performs a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation.
• 2.Participates in performance improvement, research, and educational activities.

Job Responsibility

• 1.Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• 2.Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
• 3.Performs daily patient rounds.
• 4.Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
• 5.Interprets laboratory and test results.
• 6.Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
• 7.Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts.
• 8.Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions. Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

• 1.Bachelor’s Degree, required.
• 2.Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
• 3.Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.
• 4.Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
• 5.Current BLS certification, required.
