Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures.
• Provide direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority or referrals.
• Counsel and educate patients and families on prevention, treatment options, and community resources.
• Perform preventive health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care as needed.
• Document assessment and care plan accurately and timely.
• Coordinate registration details including demographic, insurance, and co-pays.
• Assist in operating room when required.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a physician provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
• May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
• Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
• May coordinate the registration functions including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co-payments.
• May assist in operating room.
