Join TeamHealth as an emergency medicine (EM) nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Alabama. Shelby Baptist Medical Center is a 252‑bed facility serving the greater Birmingham‑Alabaster region.

Emergency Department Profile

• Annual ED patient volume: approximately 50,000+
• 36‑bed ED with excellent specialty backup
• EPIC EMR
• Modern facility with high‑acuity patient mix
• Well‑established clinical workflows and strong interdepartmental support

What You’ll Do

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients of all ages in the emergency department
• Collaborate with attending emergency medicine physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&Ds, and more (as credentialed)
• Participate in patient flow optimization, quality initiatives, and patient‑centered care
• Deliver compassionate, efficient, evidence‑based emergency care

Qualifications

• Active Alabama NP or PA license (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 2 years of emergency medicine or urgent care experience strongly preferred
• ACLS and PALS required; ATLS preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently with physician support
• Commitment to high‑quality, team‑based emergency care
