Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide patient care under physician supervision. You will evaluate patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and perform treatments while developing care plans and counseling patients on health maintenance.

The ideal candidate holds a Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies, a NJ license, AAPA certification, and BLS, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree required.
• Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field required.
• Valid NJ Physician Assistant license required.
• American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) Certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLC) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations and gathers medical data.
• Orders or administers diagnostic tests (x-ray, EKG, labs) and interprets results.
• Performs treatments (injections, immunizations, wound care) and infection management.
• Develops care plans, records progress notes, and ensures continuity of care.
• Counsels patients on adherence to therapeutic regimens, growth, development, family planning and health maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree

Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies or related field

Valid NJ Physician Assistant license

American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) Certification

Basic Life Support (BLC) Certification
