Job summary

Essen Health Care is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our multispecialty team. You will support physicians, assist with patient care, and participate in a busy clinical setting.

You will examine patients, document histories, perform routine exams, order tests, interpret results, and counsel patients under physician supervision. NY license and NCCPA certification are required; Spanish language skills are a plus. EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• Graduate of an approved PA program with post-graduate surgical training.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Active New York license and CS registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide healthcare services under supervision of a physician.
• Examine patients and record medical histories.
• Perform physicals and treat minor injuries (sutures, splints, etc).
• Order diagnostic tests, interpret results and diagnose medical conditions.
• Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval.
• Monitor responses to treatments and counsel patients.
• Assist with procedures and patient education.
