Owensboro Health Medical Group in Owensboro, KY seeks a Physician Assistant to support Bariatrics Outpatient.

This role handles patient history, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, delivers treatments with prescriptive authority or referrals, and educates patients and families on prevention, treatment options, and community resources. It may require OR assistance and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Physician Assistant licensure in Kentucky with NCCPA certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or related field required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain state licensure and NCCPA certification.

Responsabilités

Weekend Requirements: N/A | Work Hours: Monday-Thursday 8AM - 4:30PM, Friday 8AM - 2:00PM | Status: Full Time - 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health Medical Group | Department: Bariatrics Outpatient

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a physician provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
• May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
• Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
• May coordinate the registration functions including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co-payments.
• May assist in operating room.

Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Physician Asst - Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND

NCCPA - National Physician Assistant certification through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required upon hire
