Bay Area Community Health in San Jose, CA seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join our McKee Clinic. You will conduct exams, diagnose and treat, and coordinate referrals with a dedicated healthcare team.

The role offers a competitive hourly wage ($74.88–$86.81) with a comprehensive benefits package including insurance, retirement, PTO, and wellness programs. Typical hours are 8–5, Monday–Friday, with some evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Current California Physician Assistant license required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field preferred.
• Experience in community or public health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Provide follow-up care and patient education to promote wellness.
• Collaborate with physicians and health-team members; coordinate referrals.
• Order labs and tests and document patient care accurately.
• Contribute to quality improvement and participate in staff training.
• Support community health initiatives and prevention programs.

YOUR SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

YOUR DAY

As our Physician Assistant, you'll serve as a trusted healthcare partner for patients by conducting medical examinations, evaluating and diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, providing follow-up care, and promoting wellness through patient education. You'll collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members, coordinate referrals for specialty services, order necessary labs and tests, and ensure accurate, confidential documentation of patient care. You'll also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participate in staff meetings and training opportunities, and help advance community health through prevention, education, and compassionate clinical care.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current California Physician Assistant License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• State Office of Family Planning Certificate, if working in a family planning program

A Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field, at least one year of directly related experience, community or public health experience, and access to reliable transportation are preferred.
