Job summary

Running Springs Primary & Urgent Care in Running Springs, CA, seeks two compassionate Physician Assistants to join our physician-owned private practice. You will provide primary and urgent care across ages, collaborating with a supervising physician and the broader clinical team to deliver timely, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted California Physician Assistant license.
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA certification, or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • Current DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification, or willingness to obtain it within an agreed-upon timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions in both primary care and urgent care settings.
  • Perform comprehensive and focused patient assessments.
  • Obtain and document medical histories.
  • Conduct physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
  • Develop appropriate treatment and follow-up plans.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications within the PA scope of practice.
  • Provide preventive care, health screenings, and patient education.
  • Manage follow-up care and coordinate referrals.
  • Perform common outpatient procedures (wound care, suturing, splinting, injections).
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR.
  • Communicate with patients, families, pharmacies, specialists, and the clinical team.
  • Support efficient clinic workflows and continuity of care.
  • Follow clinical, safety, infection-control, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Running Springs Primary & Urgent Care is seeking two compassionate and clinically skilled Physician Assistants to join our supportive, physician-owned private practice.

We provide comprehensive primary and urgent care services to patients of all ages, from newborns and children to adults and geriatric patients. Our team serves a diverse community and is committed to delivering timely, evidence-based, patient-centered care in a collaborative and welcoming environment.

As a key member of our clinical team, you will work closely with the supervising physician, practice management, medical assistants, other advanced practice providers, and healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines to coordinate efficient, high-quality patient care.

Running Springs Primary & Urgent Care is a community-focused medical practice providing primary care, pediatric care, chronic disease management, preventive services, and same-day urgent care.

Position Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant will evaluate and treat patients with a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions in both primary care and urgent care settings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing comprehensive and focused patient assessments

  • Conducting physical examinations
  • Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions
  • Developing appropriate treatment and follow-up plans
  • Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
  • Prescribing medications within the Physician Assistant’s scope of practice
  • Providing preventive care, health screenings, and patient education
  • Managing follow-up care and coordinating referrals when appropriate
  • Performing common outpatient procedures, including wound care, suturing, splinting, injections, and other office-based procedures
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, pharmacies, specialists, and members of the clinical team
  • Supporting efficient clinic workflows and continuity of care
  • Following all applicable clinical, safety, infection-control, privacy, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications

  • Experience in primary care, urgent care, family medicine, pediatrics, or emergency medicine preferred
  • Ability to evaluate and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Ability or willingness to perform common outpatient procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build professional relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, and professional ethics
  • Willingness to work scheduled shifts that may include evenings or Saturdays based on clinic needs
