OrthoNY in New York is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our team of orthopedic specialists. This full-time role offers a mix of operating room and clinic duties, enabling you to gain broad experience under the supervision of an Orthopedic Surgeon.

You will examine patients, assist in surgery twice weekly, order tests, prescribe medications, and perform injections while maintaining thorough documentation and collaborating with the care team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• State licensure as Physician Assistant required.
• 1–3 years orthopedic experience preferred; recent graduates encouraged.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients (new, follow-up, emergency) and develop treatment plans with supervising physician.
• Order and review diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays).
• Prescribe and dispense medications, orthotics as appropriate.
• Perform procedures such as injections, aspirations, splints, removals.
• Explain post-operative care and coordinate with the team for patient questions.
• Complete dictation within 48 hours of office visits.

OrthoNY is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our team of orthopedic specialists. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in both the Operating Room (OR) and clinic settings, allowing you to gain extensive experience and develop your skills in a variety of environments.

General Description

The Physician Assistant will examine patients, diagnose injuries, and provide treatment under the supervision of an Orthopedic Surgeon. This role involves assisting in the operating room twice a week and working in the clinic on the remaining days.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Triage new, follow up and emergency patients, formulate treatment plans based on diagnosis and confer with supervising physician as needed, do pre-procedure H&Ps and complete dictation for file;
• Order and review diagnostic tests (i.e., labs, X-rays);
• Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer medication, orthotics and other as applicable;
• Perform procedures such as injections, aspirations, case/splint applications and removals;
• Answer patient questions regarding post-op care, medications, and support staff questions to work as a team;
• Completion of all dictation within 48 hours of seeing a patient in the office setting.
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as needed/assigned

Qualifications

• Advanced degree with state licensure required;
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. 1 to 3 years of experience preferred;
• Orthopedic experience preferred;
• Proficiency with computers and computer systems, specifically electronic medical records systems, is required;
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Other Information

This position requires periodic travel to and between practice locations and related companies, as needed and required.
