Job summary

Kaleida Health’s Buffalo General Medical Center seeks a Physician Assistant for the BGMC Critical Care APPs team. The role supports evaluation of acutely ill patients, performs selected minor procedures, collects blood specimens, and participates in department activities as assigned by the Medicine leadership.

Requirements include NYS PA license, NCCPA certification, current BLS and ACLS, and DEA or DEA eligibility.

Qualifications

• Active NYS PA license and NCCPA certification.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; DEA or DEA eligibility.
• 1 year of PA experience in MICU/SICU/NSICU/CVICU/ED.
• Collaborative practice agreement with a physician.

Responsibilities

• Initiate evaluation of patients with acute problems.
• Perform specified minor procedures.
• Collect blood specimens.
• Participate in department activities as assigned by the head of Medicine.

Job Description

The Physician Assistant will be available to the private medical service to initiate the evaluation of patients with acute problems, perform specified minor procedures, collection of blood specimens, and participate in other activities of the Department as might be assigned by the head of the Department of Medicine.

Education And Credentials

• Current certification by NCCPA, Current active PA license in NYS, Current BLS, ACLS, DEA or DEA eligible. 1 yr. of relevant work/volunteer experience inclusive of clinical hours. Agreement from appropriate physician to enter into a collaborative agreement.

Experience

1 yr. experience PA in MICU, SICU, NSICU, CVICU, ED preferred.
