You will work with direct physician mentorship and collaborate in a supportive environment to manage urgent care patients in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Physician Assistant license with NCCPA certification.
• Experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings.
• Proficiency with EMR systems including NexGen.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy for accurate assessment.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control.

• Conduct thorough patient assessments through physical examinations, vital sign measurements, and detailed medical histories to establish accurate diagnoses.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory tests, to inform treatment plans.
• Document patient encounters using EMR and ensure accurate CPT and ICD coding for billing purposes.
• Perform urgent care procedures including suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, foreign body removal, and wound care.

Job description

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to join our privately owned, physical-led urgent care practice. This position offers a supportive, collaborative environment with physician mentorship readily available when needed. Ideal candidates are confident, compassionate, and comfortable managing acute care patients in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Providers are encouraged to practice autonomously while having direct physician support available at all times.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments through physical examinations, vital sign measurements, and detailed medical histories to establish accurate diagnoses.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory tests, to inform treatment plans.
• Accurately document patient encounters using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) such as NexGen (Healthfusion); ensure accurate CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for billing purposes.
• Perform common urgent care procedures including suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, foreign body removal, and wound care.

Qualifications

• Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
• Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine, or urgent care settings.
• Proficiency in EMR systems including NexGen or similar platforms;
• familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge essential for accurate patient assessment.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Ability to perform physical examinations effectively while utilizing aseptic techniques during injections or invasive procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education.
