Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Maryland is seeking a Physician Advisor to guide utilization review, level of care decisions, and CDI across care teams. The role drives patient flow and supports physician engagement in care coordination and documentation improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Completion of specialty residency (e.g., Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine).
• Five years recent experience in clinical hospital practice preferred.
• Current active medical staff privileges.
• Board Certified/Eligible Physician licensed in Maryland or applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in utilization review, LOC and LOS management, and CDI.
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure appropriate patient placement and care progression.
• Deliver instructional input on CDI and clinical documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements related to UR, LOC, and documentation.
• Conduct Peer to Peer reviews to support appeals and improve coverage determinations.
