Ladders is seeking a Physician Advisor to support evidence-based clinical decision-making in a remote role across utilization management, medical review, and quality improvement initiatives. • Respond promptly to clinical review requests from Case Management.
• Stay current on CMS and MCG guidelines to support compliance and informed decision-making.
• Serve as a medical resource for quality improvement and liaison to the medical community.
• Educate providers on medical policies, utilization specifications, and coding issues.
• Conduct research on new medical procedures to propose policy and coding recommendations.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Physician Advisor to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This remote role will focus on supporting evidence-based clinical decision-making across utilization management, medical review, and quality improvement initiatives. The Physician Advisor will partner closely with hospital physicians, case management teams, and other clinical stakeholders to help ensure appropriate care, policy adherence, and effective communication with providers. This position also serves as a medical resource for reviewing services, evaluating emerging procedures, and shaping recommendations that support compliant and clinically sound outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $176,132 - $355,017 annually

Responsibilities

• Communicate with hospital physicians and staff to promote best practices in evidence-based care.
• Perform utilization management reviews, including pre-admission and post-service evaluations.

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active license to practice.
• 8 years of broad clinical experience, including utilization and medical review knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple strategic projects effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong judgment and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and current board certification in a recognized specialty.
