Responsibilities

  • Perform and document routine and sick-call examinations according to applicable standards.
  • Supervise and manage the Medical Unit to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory tests, and ancillary services as needed.
  • Provide treatments, prescribe medications, and manage health conditions within state regulations and formulary guidelines.
  • Document all patient care accurately, thoroughly, and timely.
  • Develop, implement, and supervise policies, procedures, and protocols for inmate healthcare.
  • Collaborate with correctional staff, healthcare providers, and leadership to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for nursing staff and detainee/inmate care.
  • Uphold HIPAA and PREA regulations; promote safety culture.

Position SummaryThe Correctional Medical Physician serves as the lead physician at a designated correctional facility, overseeing and managing medical program activities in alignment with CFG Health Systems’ goals, objectives, and industry standards. The physician ensures high-quality inmate patient care, collaborates with the Health Services Administrator, and acts as a liaison between correctional officials, public agencies, and the company.
