Job summary

Kansas State University’s Lafene Health Center is seeking a Physician to provide sports medicine and family medicine services on-site at the Manhattan campus. The doctor will diagnose, treat, and refer for specialty services, while coordinating with the Medical Director and staff to ensure high-quality, accessible student care.

Eligibility for Kansas medical licensure, MD degree, and relevant clinical experience are required; board certification in Sports Medicine is preferred.

About This Role

This position directly provides exceptional sports medicine and family practice healthcare services to eligible patients at Lafene Health Center and remote campus locations. The doctor will maintain a scope of practice contemporary to the needs of college health including diagnosis, treatment, and referral for consultation or specialty services, follow-up care, and serve as a positive and respectful resource to patients. Works cooperatively with the Lafene Health Center's Medical Director, Administration, and all clinical and clerical staff in order to maintain a harmonious and productive work environment to the benefit of our patients. Works cooperatively with other Kansas State University departments to be a sports medicine and healthcare resource, as well as to provide care consistent with appropriate standards for sports medicine. Collaborating departments may include the K-State Athletics, Inc., Recreational Services, Department of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health, etc. Provides clinical expertise in support of continuous quality initiatives, focused quality improvements and accreditation standards for Lafene Health Center. Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires a doctorate degree in medicine and one year of relevant experience. Must be eligible to obtain a license to practice medicine in the state of Kansas. This position requires advanced medical knowledge and clinical training, which are most reliably developed through a doctorate in medicine-a prerequisite for medical licensure. Combined with at least one year of relevant experience, These Qualifications Ensure The Candidate Is Prepared To Deliver high-quality patient care, develop treatment plans, and collaborate effectively with medical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Treatment of sports related and/or musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Board certified in Sports Medicine.

Additional Role Information

• Variable hours during evenings and weekends to provide coverage for athletic events and practices.
