Job summary

Agile Occupational Medicine is seeking a Staff Physician to lead center medical policies and deliver high-quality occupational healthcare. You will oversee direct patient care within a four-day, ten-hour shift model (Mon–Thu, 8 AM–6 PM) and coordinate with colleagues to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.

Starting compensation ranges from $250,000 to $300,000 annually and will reflect skills, experience, and location.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical program with an M.D. or D.O. and an unrestricted California medical license (or license in progress).
  • Board certified or board eligible through ABPM, ABFM, AOA, or the applicable state medical board, in accordance with state laws and scope of practice.
  • Active DEA registration required; NRCME certification required or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Spend 100% of time in a center providing direct patient care, leading by example and delivering high-quality patient experiences.
  • Serve as Primary Treating Physician for all injuries, driving optimal outcomes and expediting case closure.
  • Manage clinicians and support staff and ensure compliance with supervising physician requirements for PAs/NPs.
  • Foster teamwork, quality, and patient safety through professional collaboration and leadership.
  • Identify and implement changes with medical leadership to improve clinical efficiency.
  • Master clinical systems for efficient charting, documentation, coding, and order follow-through.
  • Ensure compliance with State Practice Acts, WC regulations and related rules.
  • Coordinate with employers on new injuries and clinical changes.

Job description

Position Summary

The Staff Physician works with the Center Leadership Team at the assigned Center, and under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer directs the Center's medical policies and programs ensuring the delivery of affordable, efficient, responsible, and accountable occupational healthcare of the highest quality to business, industry and patients in accordance with Agile’s policies, practices and procedures.

Schedule

This is a 4 day/week schedule working 10‑hour shifts. The provider will cover Monday‑Thursday, 8 AM‑6 PM.

Compensation

Starting compensation range is $250,000.00–$300,000.00 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Responsibilities
  • Spend 100% of time in a center providing direct patient care, leading by example, enhancing processes and procedures to minimize visit times, and creating an exceptional patient experience
  • Ensure day‑to‑day execution as the Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for all injuries, collaborating with therapists and specialists to drive optimal clinical outcomes and expedite case closure
  • Manage clinicians and support staff and comply with all supervisory physician requirements for PA/NPs
  • Create a professional and collaborative working environment with full colleague participation that promotes teamwork, quality, exceptional outcomes, and patient safety
  • Work with medical leadership to identify and implement changes to ensure continuous clinical improvement and efficiency
  • Master use of clinical systems to ensure efficiency, excellent supportive documentation, appropriate and optimal coding levels, charge capture, and follow through on all patient care orders
  • Ensure compliance with individual State Practice Act/Rules and Regulations/WC Regulations
  • Call and communicate to employers on all new injuries and other significant clinical changes
  • Actively participate in team meetings with Center Manager and Center Therapist to improve quality, patient safety, case management, and ensure the ongoing development and growth of the center's business
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with center clients and payers while responding to requests within 24 hours
  • Work with medical and clinical leadership to manage clinical and support staffing levels and proficiencies that will optimize patient satisfaction, workflows, and efficiencies
  • Develop and support colleague success through all aspects of the talent life cycle for staff clinicians and support staff within the center
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, professionalism, patient/colleague safety, quality care, continuous improvement and reward and recognition
  • Promote center initiatives and workflows that are consistent with those in other centers
  • Possess financial awareness and provide input to center budget and key business metrics

Requirements
Education/Credentials
  • Graduate of an accredited medical program with an M.D. or D.O. degree and an unrestricted California medical license (or license in progress)
