Spire Orthopedic Partners in Greenwich, CT is hiring an entry-level Physical Therapy Technician to support therapists and maintain clean, ready-to-use treatment areas in a busy clinic.

The role involves preparing treatment spaces, assisting with modalities under supervision, and upholding HIPAA and safety standards while collaborating with staff and patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• One year of physical therapy experience, medical office experience preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and other regulatory policies.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively under stress.

Responsibilities

• Keeps treatment areas neat and clean.
• Keeps machines clean and in working order and reports problems.
• Cleans hydroculators and other equipment weekly.
• Assists in escorting patients to treatment areas.
• Prepares treatment areas for patient care.
• Prepares modality treatments under supervision (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs, iontophoresis).
• Observes patients during treatments and reports to the physical therapist.
• Files exercise flowsheets and assists with orientation of new technicians; handles supply inventory.
• Keeps supply closet orderly and maintains a clean work area.
• Adheres to HIPAA/OSHA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do:

• Keeps treatment areas (tables, equipment, and gym area) neat and clean. See aide manual.
• Keeps machines clean and in working order and lets the manager know if any problems arise.
• Cleans hydroculators on a weekly basis, cold pack machines and other equipment as necessary.
• Assist in escorting patients to treatment areas.
• Prepares the treatment areas for patient care.
• Prepares modality treatments as supervised by the physical therapist including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold packs, iontophoresis, and other modalities.
• Observes patients during treatments and reports orally to the physical therapist.
• Files exercise flowsheets as necessary Assists with orientation and training of new physical therapy technicians Performs supply inventory and unpacks/checks-in supply orders.
• Keeps supply closet in orderly fashion.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Adheres to HIPAA/OSHA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• One year of physical therapy experience, medical office experience preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and other regulatory policies.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment.
• Able to react calmly and effectively under stress.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public by displaying sympathy, tact and understanding.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude, adjust to various personalities, work with a diverse population, demonstrating patience and professionalism.
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues.
