Job summary

Methodist McKinney Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support daily patient care activities in a busy hospital setting. A High school diploma is required; certification as a PCYT or on-the-job training is acceptable, with six months of patient care experience preferred.

You will assist with therapy-related tasks under PT supervision, maintain equipment and linens, document patient information for billing, and deliver friendly, professional service to patients and physicians.

Qualifications

• Must have Patient Care Technician certification or on the job training.
• Minimum six months experience in patient care or completion of PCYT or CAN.
• Current CPR certification recommended.
• Strong organizational skills and accurate documentation for billing.
• Excellent communication with patients and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist PT with daily patient therapy using certified/trained skills.
• Maintain linen supply.
• Organize equipment and supplies.
• Keep facility orderly and clean.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
• Monitor inventory and report reorder needs.
• Report equipment repairs as needed.
• Provide educational services and participate in in-service training.
• Support clinical business office assignments as needed.

Job description

• Assist P.T. with daily patient therapy treatment utilizing skills which have been certified or trained by the P.T. and are not considered P.T. skilled activities as defined by the state licensing
