Job summary

Pate Rehabilitation, an affiliate of Rehab Without Walls, seeks a compassionate individual to support therapy teams and transport patients for community outings in Irving, TX.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED, some healthcare-facing experience, and a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. You will work closely with therapists, patients, and staff, maintaining professional standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months prior work/volunteer experience providing instruction, preferably in a health care environment.
• Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance; minimum two years driving experience.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment activities under therapists and/or assistants.
• Help record patient progress for therapists as requested.
• Work well with patients and team, maintaining professional communication and boundaries.
• Report safety concerns or issues to management immediately.
• Keep treatment areas organized and clean.
• Accompany patients on community outings as needed.
• Drive the van transporting patients on community outings as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and Business Ethics compliance.
• Maintain professional appearance, be reliable and punctual, and conduct self to standard.
• Attend internal staff development programs as required by facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assists in implementing treatment activities assigned and supported by the Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapists and/or Assistants
• Helps record patient progress for the therapists as requested
• Works well with patients and team, maintaining professional communication and boundaries
• Reports any safety concerns, or issues to management immediately
• Keeps treatment areas organized and clean.
• Accompanies patients on community outings, as needed
• Drives the van transporting patients on community outings, as needed
• Maintains the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Shares information only when recipient's right to access is clearly established and sharing of such information is in the best interest of the patient
• Adheres to and participates in Company’s mandatory Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act privacy program/practices and Business Ethics and Compliance programs/practices
• Maintains a professional appearance, is reliable and punctual, cooperative and conducts self in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice during assigned duties
• Attends/participates in internal staff development programs as required by facility
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
• A minimum of six months prior work/volunteer experience providing an individual instruction, preferably in a health care environment preferred
• Strong interest in physical, occupational and/or speech therapy preferred
• Demonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and part of a team
• Maintains a valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance coverage and has a minimum of two years’ experience driving a motor vehicle
• Motor vehicle driver record background check results are within acceptable company standards at time of hire and annually thereafter
