Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Physical Therapist for the Outpatient Orthopedics clinic at the Chagrin Falls Family Health Center in South Russell. This role involves day/evening rotation and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and outcomes.

You will assess patients, develop and adjust plans of care, perform therapy interventions, and supervise PTAs and students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or certificate.
• Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

This position blends clinical expertise with meaningful patient connection, as therapists work closely with individuals navigating pain and recovery. Empathy and a service-oriented mindset are essential, as therapists motivate and support patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

A caregiver in this position works 7:30am to 7:00pm. Employees will work two late shifts per week with starting times of 9:00am or 10:00am. Occasional Saturday shifts will be required from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient condition.
• Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involve the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Supervise activities of Physical Therapy Assistants, students and other support personnel.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor's Degree or certificate
• Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Experience in a clinical area
• Open to new grads

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
• Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
• Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
• Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
• Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
• Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
• Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
