Job summary

York Technical College seeks a Department Chair of Physical Therapy to provide strategic leadership, curriculum development, and program oversight. Qualifications

• Graduate degree at the master’s level or higher from an appropriately accredited institution.
• Current, active, and unencumbered licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in a US jurisdiction, with eligibility for SC licensure.
• At least five years full-time post-licensure experience, including at least three years of full-time clinical experience in the US.
• Experience in administration, management, and leadership.
• Documentation of 60 contact hours of professional development addressing education theory and methodology, or ABPTRFE residency experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to plan and pursue strategic and operational goals for the department.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff to support student success.
• Oversee budgeting, program planning, and resource needs; ensure compliance with accreditation guidelines.
• Plan advising, course scheduling, and ensure student learning outcomes are achieved.
• Engage with internal/external committees and partnerships to advance college mission.
• Support recruitment, transfer, and job placement activities as required.
• Lead curriculum development and ensure quality programs and services.
