Job summary

Wilson Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a PRN, daytime schedule in North Carolina. You will implement treatment plans under supervision, monitor patient responses, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's degree, NC PTA license, and BLS certification, with at least one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; graduate of a Program in Discipline required.
• BLS certification required.
• License: Physical Therapy Assistant in NC.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
• Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning.
• Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.

What we're looking for

• Education: Associate's degree required; graduate of a Program in Discipline required

• Certifications: BLS certification

• License: Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of NC

• Experience: One year of experience preferred

• Skills and Abilities: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
