Job summary

AccentCare, Inc. in San Antonio is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our PRN team. Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will provide patient treatment, document progress, and help implement care plans.

This role requires an Associate degree in Physical Therapy, active state license, CPR, and ability to travel to multiple locations. You’ll educate patients and families and participate in team meetings to support high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with active licensure in the state of operation.
• CPR certification maintained during employment.
• Ability to implement care plans and communicate findings to the supervising therapist.
• Capable of traveling to multiple business locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and document treatment per physician orders and policy.
• Document interventions, approaches, and treatment priorities.
• Educate and counsel patients and families about care plans and safety.
• Share patient status with the supervising therapist and team.
• Deliver skilled treatment aligned with patient needs and payer rules.
• Attend meetings and participate in care planning with the team.
• Complete daily notes timely to prevent interruptions in care.

Salary: $81,600 - $99,700 annually based on experience

This position is paid on a per-point basis.

What You Need to Know

The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing treatment to patients, functioning as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant provides patient and family education and counseling regarding concerns, planning, implementing and modifying treatment procedures, and maintains appropriate documentation according to policies and procedures and current standards of practice. The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant manages a caseload in conjunction with supervising therapist and in accordance with agency productivity standards, attends and participates in patient and other conferences and agency in-services as assigned.

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy
• Have a valid license, registration, or permit to practice in state of agency operation
• Must possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical role
• Must be a licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
• Be able to implement care plans and communicate any findings or changes in regards to patients back to the Physical Therapist and physician
• Ability to educate patients and their families in basic home safety and medical equipment safety

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and document treatment in accordance with physicians orders, agency policy and patient needs
• Document appropriate interventions, approaches, strategies, materials and establishing treatment priorities
• Provide organized and efficient patient treatment which includes advising, educating and counseling patients
• Present pertinent patient information to supervising therapist and keeps team informed of patient status
• Provide appropriate skilled treatment to patients according to patient needs and within the parameters set by the agency and payer
• Seek and accept assistance from team members in treatment planning and intervention
• Accurately document, complete and submit daily notes, assist with other required forms in a timely manner to prevent interruptions in patient care
• Meet agency productivity standards and use work hours efficiently
• Attend and participate in agency meetings and committees as assigned
• Appropriately negotiate patients' participation in treatment, treatment times and treatment plans
