Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to carry out prescribed treatment plans under PT supervision. You will work with patients and families, documenting care and contributing to department initiatives.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, PTA license or eligibility with timely licensure, CPR certification, and background clearances. A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school.
• State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant or PT Assistant Indirect Supervision License or eligible and must obtain within three months.
• CPR certification as required by the American Heart Association.
• Background clearances as required by state regulations (Act 34, Act 33, Act 73/FBI).
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides physical therapy interventions based upon the plan of care written by a physical therapist utilizing standard, and possibly specialized, physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Completes documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.
• Participates in departmental initiatives for operational improvement including mentoring new staff and participating in committees and educational offerings.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school.
• State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant or PT Assistant Indirect Supervision License or eligible and must obtain one within three (3) months of hire
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree.
