Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab, a premier rehabilitation provider in Glens Falls/Queensbury, NY, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a full-time role in a skilled nursing setting. The PTA will work under the supervising physical therapist, delivering care, recording outcomes, and supporting residents on their rehab goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current New York State PTA license or pursuing licensure.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Assist residents with exercises and modalities such as stretching and massage.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with relevant regulations.

Sigma Health Rehab is excited to offer a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) position to join our team of skilled therapists in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
