Job summary

Maria Parham Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in an acute rehabilitation/outpatient setting. You will deliver individualized therapy plans to help patients improve mobility and function, monitor progress, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.

The role includes patient and caregiver education, discharge planning assistance, and maintaining accurate documentation in alignment with hospital policies

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant state licensure.
  • BLS/CPR certification.
  • Experience in Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care, and/or Outpatient settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapy services under supervision in an acute rehabilitation setting.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education and assist with discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Serve adult and geriatric rehabilitation patients.

Job Type: Fulltime, Nonexempt

Schedule: Scheduling option to choose M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm or M-TH 7:30am - 5:30pm, Rotating Saturday/Holiday coverage

Setting: Outpatient

About the Role

As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver therapy services in an acute rehabilitation setting, implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, restore function, and maintain independence. You will monitor patient progress, communicate updates to the supervising therapist, and ensure safe, effective care delivery. Responsibilities include patient and caregiver education, assisting with discharge planning, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The patient population primarily includes adult and geriatric individuals requiring comprehensive rehabilitation services.
