HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in Florida is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant PRN to join our clinical team. You will guide patients through therapeutic exercises, administer modalities, and support discharge planning under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

We value skilled communicators with strong stamina who can lift and position patients in a fast-paced hospital setting, delivering high-quality care and education to patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree program.
• Current state PTA license or certification.
• Minimum 1 year work experience.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal communication, physical stamina to assist and lift patients, and reliability within a fast-paced hospital or clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through prescribed stretching, strengthening exercises, and functional mobility training.
• Administer clinical treatments like heat, ice, or electrical stimulation to decrease pain and inflammation.
• Instruct patients and their families on home exercise programs and the safe use of assistive devices like walkers or crutches.
• Track patient response to treatments, document notes accurately in EMR, and update supervising PT.

Core Responsibilities

• Therapeutic Interventions: Guide patients through prescribed stretching, strengthening exercises, and functional mobility training
• Modalities: Administer clinical treatments like heat, ice, or electrical stimulation to decrease pain and inflammation
• Patient Education: Instruct patients and their families on home exercise programs and the safe use of assistive devices like walkers or crutches
• Progress Monitoring: Track patient response to treatments, document notes accurately in electronic medical records, and update supervising PT's
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside PTs, nurses, and other multidisciplinary staff to support an integrated care plan

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Current state PTA license or certification.
• Experience: A min of 1 year work experience required
