Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for a per diem role at St. Lawrence Hospital to support patient rehabilitation under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will participate in documentation, education, and multidisciplinary activities while contributing to quality care.

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, your ability to work collaboratively, diligently, and creatively will play an imperative role in your patients' rehabilitation success through compassion and patient-focused care. STATUS: Per diem LOCATION: St. Lawrence Hospital DEPARTMENT: Physical Rehabilitation SCHEDULE: Varies, Days, 8hr. shift between 7 am & 5 pm
Provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist. Documents treatments as per department standards. Monitors response to treatment. Participates in multidisciplinary activities. Participates in continuing education programs within as well as outside the hospital. Provides supervision to students during their affiliation. Participates in quality improvement programs and projects.
Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
