Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist Assistant - Journey Traveler must be able to travel nationwide for 13-week assignments. This position offers flexibility to work in various settings across the country. Under supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to facilitate increased independence and functioning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attending and contributing to patient care, staffing conferences, and meetings as a representative of physical therapy.
- Delivering rehab services effectively and efficiently, adhering to established care plans, schedules, and documenting services timely.
- Collaborating with the rehabilitation team to implement programs suited to each patient's needs.
- Assisting the Physical Therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
- Instructing patients, families, and caregivers in physical therapy skills and techniques under supervision.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation for all treated patients.
- Ensuring equipment is maintained and reporting repairs as needed.
- Putting Patient Service First by providing high-quality, compassionate care that respects individual needs and rights.
- Implementing individualized treatment plans established by the primary Physical Therapist.
- Providing treatments such as therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy, airway techniques, and use of modalities.
- Organizing and facilitating treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
- Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
- Availability to travel and temporarily reside outside the primary location.
Posted Salary Range
USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 per hour.
