Job summary

Desotonursingcare in Texas is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehab team. You will administer prescribed therapies, assist a Physical Therapist, and help residents improve mobility and quality of life.

The role requires an active Texas PTA license, good standing with licensing boards, SNF or long-term care experience, and proficiency with Net Health documentation. Collaborative care and ongoing education are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Active and valid Texas Physical Therapy Assistant license.
• In good standing with regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
• Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care preferred.
• Current knowledge of physical therapy treatment practices.
• Experience using Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve function.
• Provide skilled PT services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Relay information and referrals to the PT for service requests.
• Modify care plans under PT supervision to meet patient needs.
• Record motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust interventions with the care team.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans and progress.
• Ensure thorough, timely documentation compliant with policies and regulations.
• Attend meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house team of outstanding professionals. In this role, you will provide person-centered care to help residents achieve positive outcomes and improve their mobility, strength, and overall quality of life.

Your Impact as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing

• Provide skilled physical therapy services and interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist

• Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Physical Therapist

• Implement and modify patients' physical therapy plans of care under PT supervision

• Measure and record patients' motor function, strength, and muscle performance

• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and modify approaches as clinically appropriate in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

• Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers

• Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations

• Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab
