Job summary

The Lutheran Care Center at Poughkeepsie is hiring a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant to support patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, helping adults regain strength and mobility.

Rate is $30.80 per hour (effective 7/1/2026). A $3,500 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time PTA; bonus paid in installments with eligibility terms. This 1199 union-position includes health, education benefits, vacation, and holidays, with weekends off on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Valid New York State license as a PTA.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Physical Therapist, provide direct physical therapy care to assist our short and long term adult patients to regain strength and mobility.

The Lutheran Care Center at Poughkeepsie is currently seeking a full time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team.

Rate: $30.80/hour (Effective 7/1/2026)

The full time Physical Therapy Assistant position is an 1199 union role. Many member expenses are covered in full by the union. Benefits include:
