Novant Health Physical Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Bluffton team. The PTA will support patient rehabilitation under the physician's Plan of Care, document progress, and educate patients and families on care plans.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree, SC PTA license, and BLS CPR certification, with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality, compassionate care in an outpatient orthopedics setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and successful completion of PTA program.
• Active South Carolina PTA license.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• Effective communications skills and ability to document patient care.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret journals and reports.
• Ability to respond to patient inquiries and regulatory questions.
• Ability to stay objective during treatment planning.
• Sound judgment in daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and document appropriately.
• Administer treatment per physician referral and Plan of Care established by the PT.
• Complete documentation in the patient’s medical records.
• Instruct patients and/or families in required care.
• Provide daily progression updates to the PT.

What Are We Looking For?

Novant Health Physical Therapy is currently looking for a physical therapist assistant (PTA) to join our team.

The PTA is responsible for obtaining patient’s medical history; administering treatment pursuant to the physician referral and the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA completes all appropriate documentation in the patient's medical records and instructs the patient and/or patient family members in necessary patient care. Assists in the total rehabilitation of the patient, and provides the PT with a daily account of progression and treatment rendered to each of the patients.

Do You Have What It Takes?

A good PTA candidate will bring with them:

• Associates degree and successful completion of physical therapist assistant program at an accredited school
• Possesses an active South Carolina Physical Therapy Assistant state license
• Possesses a current BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification
• Possesses effective communications skills. Exhibits the ability to document patient care in a patient's medical records, operate equipment and administer evidence base practice treatments
• Exhibits the ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Exhibits the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical community
• Exhibits the ability to meet the needs of the situation at hand when dealing with patient and family concerns and respond appropriately. Must remain objective during the treatment plans
• Exhibits sound judgment and competence during the performance of all duties as assigned

An ideal PTA candidate would also have:

• Five (5) or more years of experience in an outpatient ortho setting
