Job summary

Emporia Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Emporia, VA, is hiring a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to join a dedicated rehab team. The PTA will work under supervision of a PT to deliver comprehensive therapy services and support interdisciplinary care within the facility.

Qualified candidates hold a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA and a current license/registration in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy that is recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the PT.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertification's and discharges.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
