Job summary

UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant - Level I to assist under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The role focuses on implementing the plan of care and supporting patient mobility and function in daily life.

The position requires PTA licensure in the applicable state and BLS within 30 days of hire. Applicants should have 1 year of PTA experience and be prepared to work in a team-based setting with potential clinical ladder progression.

Qualifications

• Current PTA licensure in the applicable state where services will be performed (MD/OH/PA/WV as applicable).
• MD: PTA License through Maryland Board or PTA Compact License.
• OH: PTA license through Ohio Board or PTA Compact License.
• PA: PTA license through PA State Board or PTA Compact License.
• WV: PTA license through WV Board or PTA Compact License.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Applies research-based techniques to prevent or treat conditions by implementing the plan of care established by a physical therapist.
• Decides/prioritizes direct/indirect patient care activities based on patient need and resources; collaborates with nursing to update patient handling algorithms.
• Instructs patient and caregiver in treatment programs, precautions and equipment use; documents demonstrations of instructions.
• Documents all treatments following department policies and EMR billing requirements.
• Oversees supervision of students and volunteers.
• Supports annual education related to specialty accreditation as defined by standards.
