Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Granville, New York is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team. The successful candidate will support patient goals under a supervising PT and provide compassionate rehabilitative care.

Responsibilities include following the care plan, measuring motor function, documenting progress, and guiding residents through exercises while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new grads with fieldwork encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure and record residents' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team.
