Job summary

Genesis Home Care is seeking a focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to deliver skilled services in patients' homes across Blue Rock, Duncan Falls, South/East Zanesville and surrounding areas. The PTA will work under a Physical Therapist, educate families, and ensure safety while documenting care and progress.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of PTA experience, preferably in acute or home-care settings, strong communication skills, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of PTA experience in an acute setting is required.
• Home care experience is desired.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and coworkers.
• Knowledgeable on therapy best practices and clinical decision making.
• Detail-oriented and observant.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance in your name.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled PTA services in the patient’s home as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Observes, records, and reports patient progress and reactions.
• Performs therapy procedures prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
• Educates patient and family on therapy techniques, safety, and equipment usage.
• Completes clinical documentation and maintains compliance with Medicare/agency rules.
• Drives to patients' primary locations per scheduled visits and attends required on-call duties.

The Physical Therapist Assistant educates patients and their family members and ensures safety of the patient. The PTA I is accountable for completing accurate documentation and remains compliant with all legal rule and regulations.
