Job summary

UniHealth Home Care, Inc. is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and support patient care in our facilities.

The PTA will report and update the supervising PT about each patient’s status, respond to treatments, and help maintain infection-control standards per company rules and regulations. Strong communication and dexterity are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• High school diploma
• On-the-job training completion certificate
• Hands-on experience in treatment centers
• CPR and BLS training certificates are required.
• Current state physical therapy assistant license
• National Physical Therapy Examination passer
• Licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of California
• Must be detail-oriented and compassionate
• Must have dexterity and effective interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists under supervision.
• Report patient status to supervising PT.
• Respond to treatment and assist with plan of care.
• Keep treatment area clean following infection-control policies.

Job description

PTAs or physical therapy assistants work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Similarly, the PTAs duties and responsibilities are the same as those of the PTs. The only difference is that the PTAs need to report and update the supervising PT about the patient’s current status and responds to treatment. PTAs also keeps the treatment facility clean in adherence to infection-control policies and protocols, and to the company’s rules and regulations.

What Are the Requirements?
