Job summary

Rivetus is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide patient-centered care at Belle Fountain in Riverview, MI. You will implement treatment plans under a Physical Therapist's supervision and help advance recovery for geriatric patients in skilled nursing facilities.

The role requires completion of an accredited PTA program and Michigan licensure, with responsibilities including documentation, collaboration with the care team, and participation in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensure as required by the State of Michigan.
• Ability to bend, position, transfer and lift patients as needed using clinically recommended devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments according to the established plan under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Document care to maintain quality medical records and comply with reimbursement guidelines.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Facility Location: Belle Fountain-18591 Quarry Road, Riverview, MI 48193

Schedule: Full Time (Tuesday - Saturday)

General Summary: Provides physical therapy treatment to patients according to the established treatment plan under the supervision of the Physical Therapist. Contributes to the development, implementation of, and progression of patient treatment and modifies treatment as necessary. Participates in patient care conferences and program development. Completes appropriate documentation and adheres to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.

Role Summary:

• Provides physical therapy treatments consistent with the professional and ethical standards of the A.P.T.A. for the Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Provides documentation to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care and reimbursement guidelines.
• Coordinates with other disciplines for effective total patient care.
• Assures delivery of quality care.
• Participates in the discharge planning process to insure continued patient care as needed and provide patient and family instruction.
• Maintains the clinical expertise of the PTA through continuing education.
• Contributes to a team philosophy within the department and the company and promotes the same among staff.
• Delegates work assignments, responsibilities, and patients to support staff as needed.
• Supervises students and volunteers.
• Represents the Physical Therapy Department to family, visitors, and personnel and attends care conferences as requested.
• Effectively communicates with department staff, company personnel, patients and families and department head.
• Secures equipment for patients and department supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Licensure as required by the State of Michigan

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions.
• Initiative and flexibility in the work environment.
• Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and their families.
• Physical Ability to bend, position, transfer and lift patients weighing from 80 pounds to over 300 pounds, without restriction, utilizing lifting devices clinically recommended for the patient.
