Job summary

Phoenix Physical Therapy in Lewistown, PA is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist by preparing patients and equipment and assisting with selected procedures.

The role requires a PTA degree, CPR certification, and at least two years of experience in a PT facility or similar setting. This is a full-time, on-site position with a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in physical therapy or PTA program graduate.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PT facility, nursing home or rehab setting preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule in line with facility needs.
• Communicate with care team about patient needs, progress and modifications.
• Aid in patient care and safety.
• Prepare equipment for patient treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the PT in selected procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Perform housekeeping to keep the facility orderly.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist Assistant's primary responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment for treatment and assisting the Physical Therapist with selected procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the facility.
• Confer with the person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient, keeping them informed of additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress.
• Aid in the care and safety of patients.
• Prepare equipment for patient treatments as requested by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in selected procedures, according to the PT's directions, by checking patient and equipment during treatment for both comfort and safety.
• Perform housekeeping duties; maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Attend facility meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation / Training:

• Associate degree in physical therapy or graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Physical Therapy facility, nursing home or rehabilitation agency preferred.
• Current CPR Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods.
