Compleat Rehab and Sports Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to administer prescribed therapy under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will provide skilled care, maintain patient records, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and independence.

The role requires graduation from an accredited PTA program, state registration or certification, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care and confidentiality.

Description

The Physical Therapy Assistant administers all forms of physical therapy as prescribed by the physician and instructed by the Physical Therapist. Assists in administration of office and performs related duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Always maintain a safe and hazard free work environment by following the policies and procedures of Kare Partners and its affiliates.
• Providing skilled physical therapy care to patients with impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.
• Record daily clinical and progress notes. Ensure charting compliance as required by Medicare, Medicaid and universal guidelines.
• Assist in coordinating other patient care activities/ services to provide the highest quality of patient care.
• Administers the following physical therapy procedures (including, but not limited to:)
  • Electrotherapy: short-wave diathermy, ultrasound, muscle-nerve electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, TENS, HVGS, and biofeedback.
  • Traction: cervical and pelvic
  • Therapeutic exercise: neurodevelopmental re-education, neuromuscular re-education, passive, active assistive, resistive, and strengthening exercises, joint mobilization, and massage.
  • Functional activities: ambulation training, transfer training, body mechanics, patient education, ADL activities.
  • Tests, evaluates and records initially and sequentially, muscle strength, joint measurements, activities of daily living, so that objectives are determined, treatment plan developed and regularly reviewed.
  • Instructs patients and their relatives, nurses or attendants in home programs for the purpose of advancing the patient's independence in self care and activities of daily living; helps patient accept and function to their maximum within the limits of irreversible disability.
  • Records patient's progress so that referring physician is aware of the patient's current functional level; reports any significant changes in patient's condition to the referring physician so that the treatment plan may be modified or discontinued. Is responsible for documentation of above.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service, teamwork, professionalism and confidentiality.

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited therapy assistant program

Experience:

• Registration or certification in the state as required.
• Ability to relate to and treat acutely ill/chronically ill patients/families and their particular problems.
• Must possess the disposition and personality to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people and all levels of staff and interact professionally as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Must possess a strong commitment to the goals, mission, and philosophy of the organization.
• Ability to work flexible hours, as required, to meet identified patient needs.
• Absolute integrity and the use of good judgment to handle the professional and confidential nature of assignments.
• Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs.
• Communication skills are comprised of written, verbal and presentation capabilities.
• Excellent organizational skills a must.
• Additional skills may include the ability to actively listen, use logic to identify strengths, weaknesses and solutions.
• Speaks, writes, reads, and comprehends English. Fluency in another language a plus.
