Job summary

Cambridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide PT services under on-site supervision. You will implement treatment plans, communicate with residents, and assist in supervising staff while contributing to department goals and patient education.

Qualifications include MA PTA licensure and an associate’s degree in physical therapy, with geriatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current unencumbered MA license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Graduate with an accredited PTA associate’s degree.
• Geriatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides Physical Therapy treatment plans and modalities under on-site supervision of a licensed PT.
• Communicates effectively with residents with diverse impairments.
• Train/supervise and discipline subordinate staff as needed.
• Relates information on residents’ condition to team and families.
• Plans, organizes and implements department goals, policies and procedures.
• Documents resident progress toward PT goals
• Completes daily activity schedules and progress notes per policy
• Educates residents, staff and families as directed
• Complies with rehab regulations and maintains documentation
• Maintains productivity and initiates corrective actions as needed
• Assists in ordering equipment and maintaining supplies
• Maintains current professional knowledge and standards
• Complies with facility policies and confidentiality
• Respects resident rights and reports potential abuse immediately
• Follows sanitation and infection control policies

Qualifications/Experience:

• Must have a current unencumbered MA license as a Physical Therapy Assistant

• Graduate of an accredited school with an associate’s degree in physical therapy

• A current unrestricted driver’s license and dependable transportation

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides Physical Therapy plan of treatments and modalities according to the established treatment plans as assigned, under the on-site supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist

• Must effectively communicate with residents with visual, speech, auditory, cognitive, physical and emotional impairments

• Must possess the ability to train/supervise and discipline subordinate staff

• Must be able to relate information regarding a resident’s condition

• Must possess the ability to assist in planning, organizing and implementing the goals, objectives and policies and procedures of the department

• Documents resident progress toward Physical Therapy goals

• Completes Daily Activity Schedule and progress notes per facility policy and as directed by the Physical Therapist

• Provides resident, staff and family education as directed

• Complies with Federal and State regulations related to rehabilitation therapy

• Completes all documentation to comply with professional standard and regulatory requirements

• Strives to meet productivity / efficiency goals and self-initiates corrective action plan for non-attainment

• Assists in ordering necessary equipment for the facility and residents

• Maintains current professional knowledge of practice of Physical Therapy and practices within acceptable professional standards

• Complies with all facility policies and procedures

• Maintains confidentiality of facility and resident information

• Respects all residents all resident rights

• Reports all instances of potential resident abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of resident property immediately

• Follows sanitation and infection control policies and procedures
