Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for Home Health and Skilled Nursing settings in the Athens, GA area. You will support patients to improve mobility, strength, and independence under a licensed PT, with opportunities for growth and a collaborative, clinical-excellence-driven environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Georgia PTA license with an associate degree. New graduates are welcome, and experience in post-acute care is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Active, current Georgia PTA license.
• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in home health, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute care is a plus but not required.]
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Implement individualized treatment plans in home health and skilled nursing environments.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and safety precautions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
