Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma.
• Pre-Physical Therapy coursework or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Personable, energetic, and capable of working with a diverse patient population in a team environment.
• Dress in clinic appropriate attire to convey professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Direct ambulatory patients to-and-from treatment areas; assist with transfers and wheelchairs.
• Confer with physical therapy staff for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment.
• Instruct patients on therapeutic exercises and record treatment and equipment used.
• Properly fit/position patients on exercise equipment and observe responses.
• Safely administer modalities under supervision (electrical, ultrasound, cold laser, etc.).
• Assist hand therapist with splint making and hand therapy exercises.
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain clinic cleanliness.
• Perform basic clerical duties (telephone, messages, forms).
